Pre-Halloween

Ah, so nice to walk into the Lamp late and see that it was Halloween a day early. Courtesy of the Sunday night regulars, of course.

I, of course, walked in late. Totally sober as I had been at Lestat's to see Roger's band perform. So I needed a drink. Especially to deal with some costumes. Now I am all for flaunt it if you have it, but I don't know....maybe I am getting old and the whole show your boobs thing is old for me. Eh, matters not...

I'm not going to make up categories like normal because this is basically one big shout out.

So good to see Tommy in the bar. I never see him anymore since I don't tend to come in on nights that he works. As much as I love Tommy, I just don't like the crowds on the nights he works....thus my disappearing act.

The Rock Kids were out in full force in their Alice in Wonderland Peter Pan themed costumes. Very cool.

Uh, I am too tired to go on plus my thoughts are all over....see you kids tomorrow. I will be passing out candy in the bar to all of the trick or treaters. Tee hee.

In and Out

I know, I've been ignoring the blog. But last night was classic and it needs to be documented for posterity. It was a weird night, so I only stuck around long enough to sing and was out. Sometimes that is really for the best.

Quote of the Night:
"I think they would send out the search party if I didn't show up on a Thursday night."

That would be our boy Mitchell, stating the obvious. Though I am a little peeved at him (not really) because he did "Pump Up The Volume", which led to much gratuitous grinding on the floor. Eek.

Balls of Steel:
Weird crowd last night, but Roger was brave enough to do The White Stripes' "Fell In Love With A Girl."

Um, did I mention that it was his first attempt at this? Not an easy song to sing, it clocks in under 2 minutes and the words come up fast. Good job.

New Song For The "You Should Pay Everyone In The Bar a $1" List:
That would be Cruisin'.

I personally love the song, but it's one of those songs that get old fast. Especially when those with no soul attempt it.

Bring Out the Gong:
Some dude did Phil Collins' "Sussudio."

Since when was Phil Collins a good idea?

Aiiight...that's it. See you guys on Sunday when we celebrate Roger and Jenn's birthdays!!!

Breaking the Routine

I know, I know. I was a no show on Sunday. So was Roger. It's hard to keep up that Rock -N- Roll lifestyle when you're as old as us. But we happened to be in the neighborhood after going to the Sigur Ros show last night and dropped in for a bit.

What The Hell?:
I'm calling you out Tasha. The damn show tunes are getting on our nerves.

Best Use of Juxtaposition of Words That I Can't Quite Remember:
Russ said something that was completely brilliant, but I can't remember the whole thing for the life of me. Roger, help a girl out if you can.

Rocking The Suburbs:
The mood was mellow, but I left it to Roger to take care of that. He totally nailed Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl."

Worst Segue:
I apologize to everyone for the segue from Roger's rocking out to me doing Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You". I should have rocked, but I wasn't feeling it. But at least I did a good job with my song :)

PSA:
Tomorrow karaoke starts at 6. There's some sort of charity thing going on. So if you want to see Baker before he has a few, get there early.
